VIU's Audio Video Security Committee (AVSC) provides advice and recommendations to the VIU Facilities and Ancillary Services Office - on behalf of the university community - toward meeting VIU’s safety and security commitments outlined in VIU's Audio Video Security Systems Policy 44.17 and related Procedure 44.17.001.
AVSC membership
The seven voting members are comprised of one representative from each of the following--
- Facility Services and Campus Development
- Security Services
- Vancouver Island University Students’ Union
- BC Government and Service Employees’ Union Local 702
- Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1858
- Vancouver Island University Faculty Association
- Administration, as selected by the Provost and Vice-President Academic
Meetings are typically held a minimum of three times a year in April, August, and December.
