First aid is offered at the Nanaimo and Duncan campuses through Campus Security. All other locations have VIU employees trained to offer first aid. All first aid incident reports must be sent to Health and Safety Services at Safety@viu.ca. Access the Health and Safety Incident Report form.
To summon first aid or emergency medical services:
- Dial 6600 from any internal phone.
- Dial 250-740-6600 from your cell phone
- If 911 is called, please have someone nearby call 250-740-6600 to report the incident to VIU
- Two drop in First Aid stations are available on the Nanaimo campus for minor injuries during business hours. They are located in the gymnasium (Building 190) at the front reception desk and in the Security Office (Building 315).
- Campus First Aid is equipped with Naloxone kits

- Call 604-485-2878 from your cell phone.
- If 911 is called, please have someone nearby call 604-485-2878 to report the incident to VIU
