Campus Development is a service oriented department charged with planning and developing Vancouver Island University’s campuses in an accessible, inclusive, safe, secure and sustainable manner.  We are committed to creating a built environment that supports a thriving community for teaching, learning & research.

Capital Planning

  • for cyclical capital programs, which fund building, system and public realm upgrades on our campuses
  • for Major Capital Projects, via VIU's Five-Year Capital Plan

Project Planning and Project Management

  • for departmentally-initiated capital projects and improvements, such as teaching space or office renovations, refurbishments, workstation and system furniture changes, departmental moves
  • for the design and construction of projects identified in Facilities Services and Campus Development's Routine Capital Programs
  • for the design and construction of Major Capital Projects
